I’d like to officially invite you to a party I’m hosting. A lot of cool people are going to attend. There will be live music. AND prizes! Sounds pretty great, doesn’t it?

On November 16, at 8:00 am, NCDA will be hosting our annual Reading Session in the Westbrook Music Building. We have asked our eleven Repertoire and Resource chairs to prepare music from their specific areas to share with all of you. This is a great time to discover new music in a variety of genres to bring back to your choir. There will be at least two selections from each area with each chair being able to lead and share why they chose them. Plus, it’s a great time to sing with your friends!

We will also be celebrating our awards. Each November we announce the winners of the Outstanding Choral Director of the Year and the Outstanding Young Choral Director of the Year. We have so many excellent directors in our organization, and this is a great chance for us to congratulate two deserving members of our organization.

Finally, and maybe most importantly, this is a wonderful opportunity to catch up with our community. For me, November is a time to re-charge and learn. But it is also a time to catch up with all of you. If you are new, please come and sing with us. If you haven’t been for a while, I have saved a seat for you and would love to have you back! And if you come every year, I can’t wait to see you again! I look forward to seeing you all this November!
