Sing Around Nebraska Description

Biannual SING AROUND NEBRASKA FESTIVAL – for singers in grades 4-5-6

WHY:

To provide students with an exciting and quality choral experience with other students from their festival area.

To provide an opportunity for honor music students who are ready for more challenging music to work with a guest clinician.

To provide music teachers an opportunity to observe and learn from the clinician working with the students, and to share with other teachers.

To sing quality children’s choral repertoire, and help districts build a music library of such music.

Show Choir Festivals Description

NCDA sponsored Show Choir Festivals are a great way for your ensemble to gain competition and performance experience in a festival setting. There are three festival locations across Nebraska. Check out the webpage for dates, locations and registration information.

Want your middle school or high school show choir to have a performance opportunity that is focused on education and not on the awards placement? The NCDA Show Choir Festivals could be the perfect place for your ensemble, even if they don’t normally compete. With three festivals across the state, there is a location near you where you and your students can receive valuable feedback from top-notch adjudicators. Each group will perform and then have a live critique immediately following. This gives them immediate feedback on their performance and an opportunity to improve on the spot. The Skutt Catholic site will, once again, feature a 40-minute critique for groups participating at that venue. It is always a great day to see many groups perform and support each other in a less-competitive environment.
